Academics

CCBCU Programme

At CCBCU, we offer a Diploma in Biblical Studies; this is a two-year (four-semester course).

Audit

Students who desire to grow spiritually without earning credits may apply for the Audit Program. Audit students are not required to do homework or take tests and must attend class at least 70% of the time in order to receive the grade of Satisfactory Audit (AU).  Audit students do not earn credit and do not earn a certificate or diploma of any kind.

Affiliation

CCBCU is an affiliate school of Calvary Chapel Bible College, Murrieta, in the United States.  That bible college is further affiliated with Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa where Brian Brodersen is the pastor.  Chuck Smith was senior pastor from 1965 to his going to the Lord in 2013.

Accreditation

CCBCU and Calvary Chapel Bible College Murrieta are not accredited and are not currently pursuing accreditation for two main reasons.  First, we wish to continue having local pastors teach Bible classes. Some of these pastors—although called by God, gifted, and experienced in teaching—do not have Master’s Degrees.

Second, we want to keep the cost of tuition affordable so that more students have the opportunity to study at CCBCU and remain free from school debt. Accreditation by a recognized agency would mean that we would have to abandon these priorities. Instead, we have chosen to remain unaccredited and seek to demonstrate the credibility of CCBCU through compliance with generally accepted accreditation standards, articulation agreements with accredited colleges, and especially through the spiritually fruitful lives of the students who have attended.

We are inspired by Paul’s words to the Corinthians, “Do we begin again to commend ourselves? Or do we need, as some others, epistles of commendation to you or letters of commendation from you? You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men.” (2 Corinthians 3:1-2)

Many opportunities are available for students who are called to pursue education beyond CCBCU even though academic degrees are not the main goal of our programme.
